Guidelines 3rd Year MBBS

          

Hello guys so you are now in 3rd year MBBS after passing 1st examination First of all I want to congratulate you on your great achievement.You are now out of pre clinical year. And you have to study different subjects as compared to the first professional examination. Every one face difficulty in selection of book. Different people have different choices. After 3rd year you will feel like a doctor doctor because in 1st professional you studied many things that are not directly related to clinical sides/patients. But in 3rd year u will study many interesting subjects as in pharmacology u will study about drugs for all diseases their side effects route etc etc, you will be able to prescribe drugs to patients after studying it. Forensic medicine is also a interesting subject as we learn many terms related to law and we feel like C.I.D. and also learn to manage poisoned patients. Postmortems and many other things. These things are very interesting if you study with interest but some students think it dry and boring subject. Pathology and microbiology  also very interesting subjects in this we study different disease and their treatment epidemiology, transmission etc etc.And at the last but not least is Behavioral sciences which is also compulsory subject but students study it 2 days before paper which is enough to pass the paper.

Third year brings with it the joys of clinical rotations or Wards as they are commonly known.
In 3rd year there are 2 major wards i.e medicine and surgery in which u will learn about history taking and gernal physical examination You are expected to be able to take a decent history and perform clinical exam on the patient at the end of Given period. Some Teachers also require you to check histories at the end. If so, record them daily so that you don’t have to copy from others at the end. Never hesitate to approach a patient. The more you communicate, the more you will learn. Be sensitive and polite. You’ll learn more from a patient than from any book.3rd year is all about history taking.
