Hello guys so you are now
in 3rd year MBBS after
passing 1st examination First of
all I want
to congratulate you on
your great achievement. You are now out of pre clinical year. And you have to study different subjects
as compared to the first professional examination. Every one
face difficulty in selection of book. Different people
have different choices. After 3rd year you will feel like a doctor
doctor because in 1st professional you studied many things that are
not directly related to clinical sides/patients. But in 3rd year u
will study many interesting subjects as in pharmacology u will study about
drugs for all diseases their side effects route etc etc, you will be able to
prescribe drugs to patients after studying it. Forensic medicine is also a interesting
subject as we learn many terms related to law and we feel like C.I.D. and also
learn to manage poisoned patients. Postmortems and many other things. These
things are very interesting if you study with interest but some students think
it dry and boring subject. Pathology and microbiology also very interesting subjects in this we
study different disease and their treatment epidemiology, transmission etc etc.And
at the last but not least is Behavioral sciences which is also compulsory
subject but students study it 2 days before paper which is enough to pass the
paper.

Welcome to wards
Third year brings with it the
joys of clinical rotations or Wards as they are commonly known.
In 3rd year there
are 2 major wards i.e medicine and surgery in which u will learn about history
taking and gernal physical examination You are expected to be able to take a
decent history and perform clinical exam on the patient at the end of Given
period. Some Teachers also require you to check histories at the end. If so,
record them daily so that you don’t have to copy from others at the end. Never
hesitate to approach a patient. The more you communicate, the more you will
learn. Be sensitive and polite. You’ll learn more from a patient than from any
book.3rd year is all about history taking.
There are also minor wards of
short duration rotation
