NAWAZ SHARIF MEDICAL COLLEGE SPORTS GALA 2015

A three day Sports gala of Nawaz Sharif Medical College, University of Gujrat started here on Tuesday, 14 April 2015. The Principal NSMC Prof Dr Sajjad Husaain inaugurated this Event as the chief guest. A No. of students of all the classes of NSMC attended this Sports Gala along with faculty members. Sports Gala has become a tradition of NSMC every year and many teams of NSMC participate in this Sports Gala showing their fervor and zeal for the games.The inaugural ceremony waz started wid Pakistan NAtional anthem, and  an oath-taking ceremony in which the all classes took oath of abiding by the rules committing themselves to participate in games without bias and cheating and with true spirit of sportsmanship. A  march past of the classes was also observed on this event. Professor Dr Sajjad in his address said that importance of gamez in human life couldn't  be ignored. He said that games had a special value in civilization since its commencement. He also told that sports had been transformed into a branch of science in our new generation world. He said that games are essential for minds of the students motivating them towards healthy attitude of competition. The Chairman Sports Committee, Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal Gill said that administration of college was giving special importance to the educational activities of students along with honing of their intellect through co-curricular activities. Dr Shahida Hussain said that students were the real asset of college  and it was our foremost responsibility to guide them at each step. She told that games were the best way of creating tolerance in society.

Cricket, football, basketball, table tennis matches were very attractive events. Cricket matches were hotly contested. Indoor games were enjoyed and appreciated by all. Culture and character days also were very attractive events and appreciated by all. At the end of the ceremony the honorable Principal NSMC himself gave away the prizes on closing ceremony on 16 April 2015.
