The Available health facilities in Gujrat and adjoining are
inadequate to the health needs of the population.In particular the district of
Gujrat lacks quality health care and modern diagnostic facilities for its
population of over three million!!
GUIDING OBJECTIVES OF NSMC
1-Training doctors and paramedical staff under the direct
supervision of highly qualified faculty members using state-of-the-art medical
equipments and most recently adopted teaching modalities.
2- Development of a system of interaction with colleges, schools
and mosques
to increase public awareness about disease prevention and hygiene
awareness.
3-Create research oriented atmosphere for doctors in both modern
and medical
field and indigenous medicine.
4-Indcuting highly qualified medical professionals to facilitate
the people not only
of District Gujrat, but
also of adjoining districts.
5-Developming a Health Management Information System and computer
networking
In the institute.
6-Setting up the College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, School
of Physiotherapy
And a Nuclear Medicine Centre in Gujrat.
7-Expanding the existing infrastructure of AZIZ BHATTI SHAHEED
(DHQ) HOSPITAL GUJRAT to facilitate both local learners and patients.
8-Establishment of Research and Development Centre to address
emerging health
Issues through socio-medical studies.
9-Also listed in IMED, affiliated with PGMI and UHS, & approved by Ministry of Health.
NSMC PROJECT
Ø 488 Kanal 14 Marla of Mouza Kot Amir Hussain and Jalalpur Jattan,
adjacent to the university acquired in November 2011.
Ø Planning for independent college buildings completed &
Construction of students & faculty Hostels started.
Ø Currently college housed in one of the blocks on University of
Gujrat.
